Средства обучения: электронная презентация в программе MS Power Point,
видеоклип St. Valentine’s Day, аудиокомпозиция, распечатки заданий на отдельных листах бумаги, призы (сладости).
Ход урока
1. Учащимся, как только они занимают свои места, предлагается видеофрагмент (3 мин)
Teacher: Dear children, you’ve already guessed the theme of your lesson today, haven't you?
Children: St. Valentine’s Day!
2. Приветствие, деление на группы (2 мин)
Teacher: Exactly! And in such special holiday for everybody we'd like to play with you!
At first, we need to make four teams. There are some small hearts, please, take only one of them – and put it on your clothes. Then take your seat according to the colour of your heart.
Red hearts – table #1

Yellow hearts – table#4

3. Конкурс №1. "Love is…" (3 мин)
Teacher: Dear friends, let’s reflect, what love is meant. Write down on your sheets of paper your definitions of love. One team should have at least 3 definitions!
Учащимся предлагается написать на листочках, что означает это понятие на английском языке. От каждой команды – минимум 3 понятия. Потом, каждый из участников высказывает свое мнение. (Листки отдаются на проверку жюри)
4. Конкурс №2. Puzzle (3мин)
Valentine’s Day is celebrated on February,
14th as a festival of romance and affection.
People send greeting cards called “Valentines”
to their sweethearts, friends and members of
their families.
Many valentines have romantic poems;
• others are humorous.
But almost all of them say "Be my Valentine!"
This may mean: be my friend or be my love
• or be my companion.

Yes, children, on this holiday celebrated in tens of the countries of the world, it is accepted to give to close people gifts and to write them special cards. It’s difficult to believe, but still 100 years ago Valentine`s Day was exclusively British holiday extended in the United Kingdom and several countries of the British culture-the USA, Australia, New Zealand.
Now we have learnt, that means love, but do you know how to say about your love in right way?
5. Конкурс №3 Declaration of love. (5 мин)
Teacher: On these sheets of paper there are sentences. You need to complete them using the key-words (or you can think up another variants) and then tell them somebody – aloud and be artistic!

6. Конкурс №4 Competition of poets (7 мин)
Teacher: It’s great that you can so easily make the phrases for your declarations, but let’s try to be a poet! Create as much poems as you can. And don’t forget about grammar!
