Ведущий 1: Good morning, dear guests, our teachers and students! We are glad to see you!  Today we have an unusual day and we are going to talk about our motherland, its culture, traditions and customs. The main educational aim of our holiday is to learn respecting the history and the culture of our Republic.
Ведущий 2: Over 10 million Tatars live around the world, majority of them populate the territory of the Russian Federation. Although the Tatars are scattered across large areas, and many find themselves as ethnic minorities in various regions in the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tatarstan with its capital Kazan, is a central focus of Tatar culture, crafts and lifestyle. Tatar language, Tatar culture, customs and traditions differ from Russian culture.
Ведущий 1: The Tatar language is a member of the Kypchak West Turkic language group of the Altaic family. The majority of Tatars, residing in Tatarstan, speak Tatar and Russian.
I suggest you to sing the most  popular  and favourite song  of everyone in our Republic Native Language by A. Tukai together.
Native language
Oh, my language, Native language
You’re my soul and you’re my heart
Many things I’ve learned in this life
Through my language,  through my blood.
И туган тел, и  матур тел
Әткәм- әнкәмнең теле
Дөньяда күп нәрсә белдем
Син туган тел аркылы.
Ведущий 2: “Village is the place where Tatar people preserve customs, lifestyle and traditions”  these are our president’s  words. Ceremonies and holidays express the emotional and aesthletic life of the people.Celebratory culture of the Tatars traditionally included both religious (Kurban-bairam, Uraza-bairam, Ramadan) and secular holidays celebrated in a certain season.
Ведущий 1: The calendar cycle of national holidays and ceremonies of the Tatar people begins with Nauruz. It iscelebrated on the 21st of March. On this day the daytime is as long as night. Days become longer and the nights become shorter. This holiday symbolizes the end of darkness and the victory of the light over the evil. It is a bright and unforgettable festival.People choose the most beautiful girl. She is called “Nauruz-bikeh”.She drives throughout the town in a coach, decorated with flowers, bright ribbons and bells.People sing songs and dance.
Ведущий 3:Nauruz was followed by the time of spring sowing - the most beautiful season, when the Sabantui festival was arranged. In the tatar language “ saban” means “plough” and “tuy” means “festival”. Its history is as old as our people. Preparation to the holiday started two weeks in advance. "Racehorse feels Sabantui approach in good time" - the Tatars said. This holiday takes place at the beginning of summer, after the first haymaking.
Ведущий 1: During this festival there are a lot of spectacular competitions. The most exciting are the horse races.Another popular competition is the national wrestlng. At the end they choose a winner. He is usually given a good prize. There are also a lot of funny competitions and sport games, for example, egg-races, “running –in- sacks” races. Climbing up a high pole is rather difficult, but very funny. The prise is a big cock, sitting on the top. In the villages young women usually make presents for the winners. Everyone tries to show his/her skills or talent.
Ведущий 2: The beginning of the summer was the time of jiyens - special holidays of meeting relatives, who came the day before and stayed for 3-4 days. The evening passed in youth outdoor activities with songs and dances, round dances and cheerful games, young people got acquainted, future marriages were planned.
Ведущий 1: Muslim holidays were especially esteemed. Kurbanbairam is the most significant one. It is a holiday of sacrifice in memory of Prophet Ibrahim's willingness sacrifice his son for the sake of Allah. The sacrificial animal is fattened several weeks before the holiday for an obligatory meat meal and besides many people  like to bake koimak. And we would like you to taste it. Help yourselves!
Ведущий 2: Uraza-bairam is celebrated at the end of a 30-day fast in Ramadan. Having tried sweets in the morning, Muslims go to the mosque, and in the evening arrange the family feast.
Ведущий 1: New holidays reflecting social and political changes were added to the national ones. The main of them is the Day of Republic on August 30. This  day in 1990, Tatarstan adopted the Declaration of State Sovereignty. The Day of Republic combines both ancient traditions and the present. It is a memory of the past and aspiration to the future.
Ведущий 4: On this day, cities and villages of the republic flourish, all multinational Tatarstan people get together to see the festival open-air performance with historical customs and traditions, horse races, national wrestling, ensembles of ancient instruments and folklore groups performances. Now enjoy yourselves listening to our folklore school group! The pupils of the 8th form are in front of you.
Ведущий 2: Tatar ethnic clothing and costumes are made from bright materials and  always are accompanied by a lot of decorations and embroidery. The traditional  clothing of urban and rural people differs in designs, quality of the material and  intricacy of the decorations.
Ведущий 3: Head of Tatar man and woman is always covered by richly embroidered headgear: tubetei, kalfak, yaulyk. A costume includes beautiful boots chitek made of colorful soft leather.
Ведущий 3: Now I’d like to say some words about family traditions!
Family is based on old principles, with some elements of woman's seclusion, traditionally dominated. The wedding and birth of a child were the most significant family events.
Ведущий: The wedding through courtship was most widespread. The choice of a bride was made by groom's parents, then the matchmaker was sent. After the agreements, bride's relatives began to prepare for the wedding. A day before the wedding, groom's parents sent ransom and gifts to the bride.
Ведущий: In some families, the wedding ceremonies- ransom for the bride(kalym), bride’s dowry (birne), religious ceremony of wedding (nikah) and others- remain bright and interesting to our days.
Ведущий 2:The birth of a child was a joyful event. Tatar enlightener and historian Kayum Nasyri describes this custom as follows: " When all guests arrive, the child is brought on a pillow to the mullah. He asks the parents how to name the child. The mullah prays, then repeats three times: "Let your precious name be ...". Each visitor is given honey and oil. Being treated, he puts as much money on a tray, as he can".
Ведущий 3: As we know, Tatar people have rich and vivid traditions and customs. We must preserve, respect and follow them!
Ведущий 1: So, dear guests, taechers and students. Our party came to the end. We hope you enjoyed it! We wish everyone success in life and to live happily. Thanks for attention. Bye!
